While the basement was off limits to us during the waterproofing stage we decided that it was a good time to check out all the baby stores and figure out what we needed. We did make a few purchases and decisions on the large items. We have also done a lot of research on the smaller stuff so it won't be long until we pull our registry together.
Here is what we have decided on so far:
Change Table:
One of the purchases that we made was this solid walnut buffet for an amazing price. We're planning to paint it (I can hear the gasps from all the wood lovers out there) and use it as a change table. It's the perfect height for us and will also offer up lots of storage. Now that we have it home we are a little concerned that it might be too large for our tiny, tiny little nursery. We'll have to see once we can actually get all the main pieces in place.

Crib:
Our Crib, which is currently in a box waiting to be assembled, is the White Jenny Lind style crib. The simplicity of the style and the price can not be beat. I know it is a very popular choice among other bloggers too.
Rocker/Glider:
Originally we wanted to go with a vintage 50's rocker that we would reupholster but we had a really difficult time finding one. Since all the other rocker/gliders are large, unattractive and expensive, we decided to splurge on one that is comfortable, looks amazing and has the smallest footprint that we have found for our tiny nursery. In the future we can move it to another room with out dying of embarrassment.
We decided to go with the Joya Rocker and food rest from Monte (a Canadian company!) in the heather grey with walnut legs and an orange pillow. It is also an environmentally friendly option and by far the best quality we came across. From what I am told by my friends I am going to be spending lots of time in this chair so I had better like it.
Storage/Closet:
Our tiny little nursery is also with out a closet. We debated the old armoire verses installing a closet for some time. We just couldn't find an armoire that would give us maximum storage that we liked for the price we wanted to pay. So we decided that we would install an Ikea pax closet with the glossy white doors, floor to ceiling. It will give us the most storage for our dollar and is the most customizable for the interior space for baby stuff. Also since we have such a mishmash of styles in this room so far, it helps to simplify things in this room, keeping it modern and consistent with the other rooms in our house.
our closet in the master bedroom it will be much smaller in the nursery
So there we have the major components of the room pulled together. The one thing we haven't settled on are the accent colours for bedding, curtains, rugs and decor. We're still pondering that one.

I love that crib style. The chair is wonderful, I've never seen one like it before. I love everything!
I love your rocker! :)
That rocker is amazing! I'm also getting the Jenny Lind crib, you really can't beat the price for the cute looks!
I love all of it! The buffet is beautiful, but I agree painting it white will make it seem smaller in such a small room. And you will love your monte chair - I know I do! Also, I am passing on a Liebster Blog award to you and your blog - you can see the post here: http://wickednweird.blogspot.com/2012/01/liebster-blog-award.html. Happy Tuesday!
Just learned about your lovely blog from Lisa over at Wicked and Weird!! So glad I stopped by. Congrats on the award. I just clicked "follow" so you're one step closer that 1-0-0 mark! Cheers :)
I can't wait to see the buffet painted, I think it will look great.

Have been racking my brain trying to find a Jenny Lind in Toronto...did you buy it online?? The source you listed looked like a rental company, but maybe I'm mistaken.
Thanks!
Hi Alanna- The source is for the image. I ordered the crib online from a company called Wayfair.com. It was the only place that I could find that ships to Canada (Target, Walmart, BabiesRus and Amazon all sell it online but ship to the US only). You can also order the crib from Dear Born Baby in Toronto.
I love the idea of repurposing a piece to act as a changing table and that crib is so classically beautiful.
By the way, I gave you an award on my blog so check it out :) http://www.mysocalledhome.com/2012/02/liebster-love.html
HI! Just found you from My So Called Home, and I am glad I did. I bought that exact same crib from that exact same source for our nursery and I love it. I can't wait to see your finished space :)
